Information about a bomb

If you receive a telephone call that a bomb has been planted:

  1. Stay calm and talk with the person informing you about the bomb in a composed manner. Do not hang up.
  2. Listen carefully to the information, show interest and try to get as much information as possible. Try to ask the caller the following questions:
    • What is your name?
    • Where exactly was the bomb planted?
    • What does the bomb look like?
    • When will the explosion occur? What could lead to an explosion?
    • What should be done to prevent the explosion from happening?
    • Who planted the bomb and why?
  3. While you are still talking on the phone, inform a person in your vicinity about the bomb (e.g. on a piece of paper).
  4. Immediately inform the building security service, the building manager (porter) or the head of the organisational unit about the situation, and wait for their instructions (e.g. to call the emergency services or evacuate the building).

If you have received an e-mail about a bomb:

  1. Don’t delete the message.
  2. Don't waste your time writing back.
  3. Immediately inform the building security service, the building manager (porter) or the head of the organisational unit about the situation, and wait for their instructions (e.g. to call the emergency services or evacuate the building).
